Construction Hub v1.9 — Onboarding Module and Enhanced 3D Viewer
Version 1.9 introduces a new Onboarding module with user invitations, office and cash register setup, as well as a significantly improved IFC 3D Viewer with intelligent coloring by MEP system, transparent windows, smooth shading, and ACES tone mapping.
With Construction Hub v1.9, we are making two important moves — simplifying the first steps for new users with a full-featured Onboarding module and elevating 3D visualization of BIM models to a level that was previously reserved for specialized desktop software.
Onboarding Module — From Registration to Productivity in Minutes
The first impression of software is critical. If a new user encounters a wall of empty screens and unclear settings, the chances of them continuing are minimal. The new Onboarding module guides the user step by step through the company setup process.
User Invitations
Administrators can now send email invitations to colleagues and team members. The invitee receives a link, registers, and is automatically added to the company with predefined roles and permissions. No manual account creation, no password sharing, no confusion.
Office Setup
Construction companies often operate from multiple offices — headquarters, site offices, regional offices. The Onboarding module allows you to create the office structure from day one:
- Name and address for each office
- Associate users with offices
- Office as a filter when creating documents
Cash Register Setup
Cash register management is essential for construction companies that handle cash payments on site. The module allows:
- Creating cash registers for each office or site
- Defining opening balances
- Assigning responsible persons
This initial setup ensures that when the team starts actual work, the financial structure is already in place.
IFC 3D Viewer — Next-Generation Visualization
The 3D visualization of BIM models in Construction Hub has received a revolutionary upgrade. Instead of a basic wireframe or flat render, the new IFC 3D Viewer delivers visual quality that rivals desktop applications.
Intelligent Coloring
The most notable new feature is intelligent coloring, which automatically assigns colors to elements based on different criteria:
- By MEP system — plumbing (blue), electrical (yellow), HVAC (green), and others, for instant orientation within building systems
- By element type — walls, slabs, columns, beams — each type with a distinct color
- By style — distinguishing structural from architectural elements
When examining a model with thousands of elements, this visual differentiation is critical. Instead of a monochrome mass of geometry, you see a clearly structured model where every system is recognizable at a glance.
Transparent Windows
Glass elements — windows, storefronts, glass partitions — are now visualized with realistic transparency. This is not a cosmetic change — transparent elements allow you to see the interior of the building without hiding anything, which dramatically improves understanding of the spatial layout.
Smooth Shading and ACES Tone Mapping
Render quality has been improved with two technologies:
- Smooth Shading — eliminates rough edges and creates smooth surfaces similar to real materials
- ACES Tone Mapping — a film industry technology for managing color and contrast that makes the model more realistic and visually pleasing, especially under varying lighting conditions
Cross-Section, Volume, and Weight for Steel Profiles
For structural engineers, we added specialized tools:
- Cross-Section — the cut-through view lets you see the interior of an element and verify structural details
- Volume and weight calculation — for steel profiles, the system automatically calculates volume and weight based on geometry and material properties from the IFC model
These data can be exported and used directly when preparing offers and quantity surveys. For details on working with BIM data, see our IFC/BIM Import guide.
AI Learning from User Corrections
Construction Hub gets smarter with every use. When the AI module for data extraction makes a mistake and the user corrects it, the system learns from the correction. The next time it encounters a similar document, the probability of correct recognition is higher.
This is a closed improvement loop: AI proposes, the user validates or corrects, AI improves. Over time, the system becomes increasingly accurate for the specific documents and formats your company works with.
Responsive Charts
All charts and diagrams in the system are now fully responsive — they adapt correctly to different screen sizes, from a large desktop monitor to a tablet. Data remains readable and interactive, regardless of the device.
Version 1.9 closes two important gaps — it makes initial setup painless and elevates BIM model visualization to a level that enables real work with 3D data directly in the browser.
